Nursery Rhymes...a la Pygmy Goat

Crinkle Crinkle Those Corn Chips

Crinkle crinkle those corn chips
How I want them in my lips.
Up above my head so high,
Like some torture from the sky.
Crinkle crinkle those corn chips
How I want them in my lips.

Show Show Show your Goat
Show show show your goat,
At the youth goat show.
Around and around and around and around;
You’re going way too slow.

Katherine Had a Little Goat
Katherine had a little goat,
Its coat was gray as coal.
And everywhere that Katherine went,
the goat was sure to go.

It followed her to school one day,
Which was against the rule.
It made the children laugh and play,
To see a goat at school.

And so the teacher turned it out,
But still it lingered near.
And waited calmly at the gate,
‘Til Katherine did appear.

“Why does the goat love Katherine so?”
the eager children cry;
“Why Katherine feeds the goat, you know”
the teacher did reply.

Mark-y Went a Courtin'

Mark-y went a courtin' and he did ride, uh-huh
Mark-y went a courtin' and he did ride, uh-huh
Mark-y went a courtin' and he did ride
With musk and swagger on his side, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

He rode right up to Doe-goat’s pen, uh-huh
He rode right up to Doe-goat’s pen, uh-huh
He rode right up to Doe-goat’s pen
Snorkled three times and blew his spit, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

He said, "Miss Doe, will you marry me?” uh-huh
He said, "Miss Doe, will you marry me?” uh-huh
He said, "Miss Doe, will you marry me?”
And oh so happy we will be, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

"Not without Miss Katherine," uh-huh
"Not without Miss Katherine," uh-huh
"Not without Miss Katherine," uh-huh
"Would I alter the animal husbandry plan," uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

Kath’rine went to the vet clinic, uh-huh
Kath’rine went to the vet clinic, uh-huh
Kath’rine went to the vet clinic, uh-huh
To buy her doe a blood test kit, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

Where shall the wedding “supper” be? uh-huh
Where shall the wedding “supper” be? uh-huh
Where shall the wedding “supper” be?
Way down yonder in the green hay barn, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

The first to come in was a guinea fowl, uh-huh

The first to come in was a guinea fowl, uh-huh
The first to come in was a guinea fowl
With spikey black hairs on his head, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

Next to come in was the big black hen, uh-huh
Next to come in was the big black hen, uh-huh
Next to come in was the big black hen
She opened the gate to the whole goat pen, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

Little bit of biscuit on the shelf, uh-huh
Little bit of biscuit on the shelf, uh-huh
Little bit of biscuit on the shelf
If you want anymore you can sing it yourself, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh…

Hey Diddle Diddle

Hey diddle diddle,

The goat in the middle,
Toga jumped onto the stump,
The guinea fowl laughed to see such sport,
And the dog ran away to the dump.

Star Light, Star Bright

Star Light, star bright,
First star I see tonight.
Wish I may, wish I might,
Have that goat I saw tonight.
